Their collaboration focuses on the development and integration of advanced systems into security plans, utilizing combined and customized solutions that incorporate both aerial and ground drones redefining surveillance and monitoring. Simultaneously, the partnership focuses on creating specialized drone equipment and robotic systems of Greek manufacture, designed to meet the unique demands and needs of the security and guarding sector.

Special emphasis is also placed on research and the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for autonomous navigation and image processing (computer vision) applications, enhancing the operational capabilities of these advanced security systems. To ensure seamless integration into real-world operations, the partnership also includes specialized training programs for drone pilots and security personnel, conducted at dedicated training centers.

In order to implement this project and providing security services to thirteen (13) facilities of ADMIE S.A. nationwide, ESA selected and provided a specialized security team consisting of sixty (60) people.

This collaboration is an important step towards ensuring a safe environment for our company’s activities. We remain committed to achieving the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Having completed almost a year of operation in the reception centres, ESA has taken on and managed several incidents. The staff responsible for guarding the centres, and the technical systems, have both worked perfectly together to neutralise possible threats, ensuring the smooth operation of the centres while protecting life and preventing injury.

Combing various technological systems and digitising the processes that staff have to follow, which are simultaneously incorporated into the same PSIM administrative platform, allows those responsible for security to effectively supervise the operational environment and respond immediately to any threats that may arise.

Among ESA’s obligations, apart from setting up the Incident Management Centre, is to staff and operate it, install innovative security subsystems in most of the Ministry’s facilities, and provide security services in facilities in Attica and mainland Greece.

The meshing together of technology, human resources, and processes – the three essential components of security service provision – allowed us to set up a project that has become a benchmark for Greece. The design and implementation were based on our competitive advantages, which include a wealth of expertise in designing and integrating innovative security systems together with effective support from the appropriate human resources, ensuring the smooth and secure operation of the organisations we protect.

More specifically, at 7 of Fraport’s airports in Thessaloniki, Kavala, Corfu, Aktio, Cephalonia, Zakynthos, and Chania, ESA ensures:

• Access control and screening of people and hand luggage
• Screening of luggage with the use of hight-tech CT scanners, specially designed for security checks
• Checks on cargo and post and supplies to flights and airports
• Security checks and access control at airport facilities
• Vehicle and foot patrols of exterior and interior areas and of airport facilities.

The long-term partnership between ESA and Fraport Greece is based both on the trust created between the two companies and ESA’s continuous commitment to improving the services it provides and upgrade the technological infrastructure. As part of this, we continually invest in staff training while incorporating advanced security solutions into our operations, such as innovative X-ray security check simulation platforms (Simfox) and individualised staff compliance evaluation (OpeReady).

At the same time, we remain fully compliant with international, European, and national regulations, applying the highest standards of quality control when implementing airport security procedures.

This partnership means that we are operationally supporting the steady growth of the country’s international airports, actively contributing to the improvement of services in international tourism in Greece.

ESA provides complete aviation security services in one of the most important and complex infrastructure projects carried out in the country, Athens International Airport.

As of March 2023, the number of screeners at Athens airport is close to 300, all certified by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Additionally, on behalf of Athens International Airport, we also handle:

• Access control and screening of people and hand luggage at the satellite terminal and at all critical points in the airport
• Inspection of cargo and mail, flight and airport supplies
• Security and access control to General Aviation facilities
• Foot patrols of exterior and interior areas and in airport facilities.

With technology as one of our major driving forces, ESA incorporates into its operations advanced and innovative X-ray security check simulation platforms (Simfox) and individualised staff compliance evaluation (OpeReady). At the same time, we ensure the on-going training of our staff and the continuous improvement of their performance so that we can continue to provide our high level security services in aviation.

As part of implementing our Company Quality Policy, we employ high standards of quality control in the implementation of airport security procedures, in order to ensure our full compliance with international, European, and national regulations.

This partnership further strengthens ESA’s support of the continued and steady growth of our country’s international airports, at both operational and enterprise levels, and of our active participation in improving the provision of services to international tourism in Greece.
